Lime
I was recruited to join Lime, the shared electric micromobility leader, in 2020 as a founding member of their in-house hardware team. We engineered an entire next-generation fleet to create a competitive advantage for Lime and replace the old off-the-shelf vehicles.
Features I developed like swappable batteries and charging stations, phone holders, new vehicle modes, and improved reliability and serviceability have been essential to Lime's success. Lime's global fleet grew by 206% while reducing its carbon footprint by 37%. The company reported an industry-first EBITDA-positive year in 2022 followed by a 500% EBITDA increase in 2023. Bookings and rider diversity have continued to increase as well.
While working at Lime, I have experienced and addressed the operational complexities of a global company and the challenges of managing a shared service. I have also learned firsthand about the difficult tradeoffs businesses require when dealing with diverse stakeholders and government regulations.
